Hi!
Today I'm sharing my thoughts about the new Lion King film. It is a popular film to go to at the moment and people's opinions about it are very different. In this post, I will share my experience during the film with, as my thoughts of it.
Before.
My expectations of this film are that it will be the same story that I know from watching the original when I was younger. I'm writing this before I've seen the film and read reviews, I've only watched the trailer. I know a lot of people don't like these remakes as they see it as easy-money-making for Disney. I don't agree with that opinion, I like the fact that they remake these films with the technology we have nowadays. It gives these good stories a new life, so they won't be forgotten. I like that these films get a new life, so maybe my future children will see these films too. And for me, it also brings up childhood memories, these films I loved so much when I was younger.

After.
The visuals of the film were so good and the animals were extremely real. I do agree with people saying this realism takes away emotion. But still, I really liked it. When the film started and the song 'Circle of Life' started, my arms were covered in goosebumps. This film definitely gave me childhood memories! The music was beautiful and I still laughed because of Timon and Pumba. I' certainly am not disappointed. I'm glad the story was still the same, but maybe the film could be more for children. During there isn't any blood and deaths are also as 'child-friendly' as possible. Yes, more emotion would have made this film even better. But I won't complain. I'm so glad this story will not be forgotten, now that it has a new life. My future kids will definitely watch this film because the story teaches things about life, the 'circle of life' as said in the film.
We adults shouldn't complain about this film. It is meant for kids and they will surely love it, just as we did when we were younger. Nowadays we have the technology to make films look real (in a good way) and beautiful. Combined this with stunning music, it's a pleasure to watch this and relive the story. For me, it was worth it to watch this in the cinema. I recommend you to check this film out!
Love,
Julia
